Love of Music

This is one of my new/old loves....Good ole Southern Rock-n-Roll!

It seems that over the years my taste in music has changed. When I was real young I listened to Queen, The Eagles, and Rod Stewart because of my mom and I listened to Waylon and Willie, Johnny Cash, and The Everly Brothers because of my dad. I enjoyed this music but as I grew older the music became louder and more to the side of Rock.

I became a big KISS fan and a big Cheep Trick fan. Which still holds true today. Of course I went thru the Glam 80's rock music. Poison, Motley Crew, Ratt(ugh), Van Halen, Twisted Sister, Cinderella, White Snake and the list could go on and on here.

For a while in the 90's I worked at a local rock-n-roll bar where we had a lot of great local musician play. This was the down fall for me and music. Music became all about the cute band guys and not so much the music they played. I would talk myself into liking the music because the guitar player was cute or the drummer was "do-able". Ask me to hum one of their tunes when they left the bar for the night and I couldn't do it again until....2005.

This band Blackberry Smoke had me at "Livin Hell" which is one of their catchy, hum-able tunes! Seems my music has come full circle for me in my mid 30's. I am digging ole Waylon, especially his son. Good ole Shooter! I am right back to my root of my music. I just pray my love for music rubs off on my children...as I sit and listen to my 3 year old sing Buffalo Soldier! This warms my heart.
